The influence of military challenges on the functioning of the meat market
The article defines the influence of military challenges on the functioning of the meat market and substantiates the directions of its further development. It has been proven that armed conflicts and wars in the world have a negative impact on the functioning of the livestock industry and the meat market. The necessity and importance of meat consumption for human health and ensuring food security of the country is argued. It has been established that the russian-Ukrainian war has a negative impact not only on the Ukrainian meat market, but also on the world food market. The impact of this war was especially keenly felt by the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, whose food security depends on food supplies from Ukraine. It has been determined and substantiated that military challenges have a negative impact on the functioning of the meat market. They led to a significant reduction in livestock and production, the spread of African swine fever, a reduction in the consumption of more expensive types of meat, the destruction of critical infrastructure, disruption of logistics chains, a shortage of workers in meat production, an increase in prices, a decrease in the number of consumers and low purchasing power. It has been proven that the further functioning and development of the meat market directly depends on the security situation in the country, the functioning of the meat livestock industry and state support. It is substantiated that the main directions of the further development of the meat market in the conditions of military challenges should be the stabilization of livestock and poultry, the implementation of the tasks of the "State Targeted Economic Program for the Development of Animal Husbandry for the Period Until 2033", the introduction of a system of state control on the meat market within the framework of "production-processing-sale of meat" and financial support for enterprises that keep cattle and pigs.
