Generative AI Usage Policy
The scientific journal "AIC Economics and Management" is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and quality of published research. Given the widespread adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific work, we have developed a corresponding policy that regulates its use in materials submitted to our publication.
1. Transparency and Disclosure
Authors are required to declare the use of generative AI (e.g., language models, tools for creating text, images, code, or data) in the manuscript preparation process, including writing, editing, data analysis, creating visualizations, or other research stages. In the "Materials and Methods" section or in article notes, it is necessary to specify:
- which AI tool was used (e.g., specific model or software);
- for what purpose it was applied (e.g., text writing, data processing, graph creation);
- the scope and nature of AI contribution to the work. Failure to disclose AI use is considered a violation of the journal's ethical standards.
2. Author Responsibility
Generative AI cannot be listed as a co-author of an article, as it is incapable of taking responsibility for the content of the work. Authors bear full responsibility for:
- the authenticity, accuracy, and originality of all submitted material, including AI-generated content;
- checking and correcting any errors, inaccuracies, or biases that may be introduced by AI tools;
- compliance with copyright and licensing requirements when using AI-generated content.
3. Permitted AI Use
The use of generative AI is permitted in the following cases:
- for improving text style or grammar (e.g., proofreading or translation);
- for creating auxiliary materials such as: illustrations, graphs, or code, provided they are verified by authors for compliance with scientific standards;
- for data analysis or modeling, if the AI usage methodology is described in detail and justified. Authors must ensure that AI use does not lead to plagiarism, including reproduction of previously published materials without proper citation.
4. Prohibited AI Use
The following is prohibited:
- completely relying on AI for article writing without critical evaluation and editing by authors;
- using AI to create false data, manipulate results, or fabricate research;
- submitting AI-generated content as exclusively authored without indicating its origin.
5. Manuscript Review
The Editorial Board reserves the right to:
- request additional information about AI use during the review process;
- reject manuscripts if AI use does not comply with stated ethical standards or if there are suspicions of academic integrity violations.
6. Adherence to Ethical Standards
Authors should consider potential ethical risks associated with AI use, including bias, data confidentiality, and environmental consequences (e.g., energy consumption of large AI models). The publication calls for responsible and ethical use of AI technologies in scientific research.
7. Policy Updates
Given the rapid development of AI technologies, this policy may be updated. Authors are required to comply with the current version of the policy published on the journal's website.
This policy aims to ensure transparency, preserve scientific integrity, and maintain trust in published research. Authors, reviewers, and editors are obligated to adhere to the specified principles.
