This article assesses the current state of development of the food industry. Peculiarities of functioning of Ukrainian enterprises of the food industry in terms of increased globalization processes in the world economy. Particular attention is paid to quality control of food products under WTO in accordance with generally accepted by Member States of the Organization standards. The author discusses the features of functioning in Ukraine of quality control of food, including animal products. The existing system in Ukraine for veterinary checks at the level of the state, including at the level of the manufacturer of a particular product. Proposed measures to restore the functioning of the food industry.
